Some news from the Greek Open

The Greek Open was played this week-end in Athens. On saturday, the team tournament was played by 13 teams and Falcons Athens beat Pireas Lions in the final. Among the 18 veterans, Lazaros Papakonstantinou was the winner after he beat Chris Aggelinas in the final.
On sunday, there ware 69 players in the Open category. Spyros Hantzaras won his 2nd Open (the first win was in December 2008, almost one year day by
day) as he beat Velissarios Fragakis int he final. Kostas Triantafillou and Kostas Sesses were the semi-finalists. Vaggelis Bairas (U15) and Giannis Vlassopoulos (U12) dominated their respective categories. Finally, the great news from the week-end was that the organizers made possible to host the first ladies tournament ever in Greece. 9 girls competed in the event and Dionysia Koulosousa (Pireas Lions) won the final against Eirini Patrikiou (Roligans). Well done to the greek association for such a nice achievement.
